Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 28 September 2026
The Inclusive Wedding Company is a trading name of Elaine Hughes Consultancy Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 13411137.
Accessibility is central to the work of The Inclusive Wedding Company. We believe people should be able to access information, services and experiences with dignity, choice and as few unnecessary barriers as possible.
That principle applies to our own digital presence too.
This statement explains our approach to the accessibility of The Inclusive Wedding Company website, the steps we take to improve it, and how you can contact us if you encounter a barrier.
1. Our approach to accessibility
We aim to make this website usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including disabled and neurodivergent people and people using assistive technologies.
When developing and maintaining the website, we consider areas including:
clear page structure and navigation;
readable typography and content;
colour and contrast;
descriptive links and buttons;
alternative text for meaningful images;
keyboard accessibility;
meaningful headings;
form labels and instructions;
accessible language and content structure;
mobile and responsive use; and
avoiding unnecessary barriers created by movement, media or visual presentation.
Accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-off exercise, and we expect to continue reviewing and improving the website as it develops.
2. Accessibility standards
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as an important reference point when considering digital accessibility.
However, unless expressly stated following appropriate testing, we do not claim that every page or feature of this website fully conforms to a particular WCAG level.
The website is built using Squarespace and also connects with third-party platforms and services. Some aspects of their underlying technology may be outside our direct control.
Where we identify barriers that we can reasonably address, we aim to make appropriate improvements.
3. Using this website
We aim for the core information and services on this website to be accessible across different devices and methods of interaction.
Depending on your browser, device and assistive technology, you may be able to:
zoom or enlarge content;
navigate using a keyboard;
use screen-reading or text-to-speech technology;
adjust browser or device display settings; and
access the website on mobile, tablet and desktop devices.
Your browser, operating system or assistive technology may provide additional accessibility settings.
4. Images and visual content
We aim to provide appropriate alternative text for meaningful images where this supports understanding or navigation.
Purely decorative images may not require descriptive alternative text.
Because The Inclusive Wedding Company is a visually led wedding brand, imagery forms an important part of the website. We aim to ensure that important information is not communicated solely through an image where a text alternative is reasonably required.
5. Video, audio and moving content
Where we publish meaningful video or audio content, we aim to consider appropriate accessible alternatives such as captions, transcripts or accompanying text where reasonably practicable.
We also aim to avoid unnecessary movement or animation that creates a barrier to accessing essential information.
6. Forms and interactive features
The website may contain forms, assessments, booking tools and other interactive features.
These may include the Supplier Inclusion Score™ and services delivered using third-party technology.
We aim to make our own content and configuration as accessible as reasonably possible.
However, some third-party platforms have elements that are outside our direct technical control.
If an online form, assessment or booking system creates a barrier for you, please contact us, and we will consider a reasonable alternative way for you to access the relevant information or service.
7. Third-party platforms
Some parts of our customer journey may be provided through or connect to third-party platforms, for example for:
bookings;
payments;
email subscriptions;
questionnaires or assessments; and
embedded or linked content.
Although we consider accessibility when selecting and configuring services, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of websites or platforms operated independently by third parties.
If a third-party service prevents you from accessing an IWC service, please tell us so that we can explore an appropriate alternative where reasonably possible.
8. Known limitations
We continue to review the website and may identify areas that could be improved.
Potential limitations may arise from:
third-party platforms or integrations;
older or externally supplied documents;
embedded content;
automatically generated website elements; or
features provided by our website platform that we cannot directly modify.
Where we become aware of a significant accessibility barrier, we will consider what reasonable action can be taken to address it.
9. Alternative formats and reasonable adjustments
If you need information from this website in a different format, or require a reasonable adjustment when accessing one of our services, please contact us.
Where reasonably possible, we will work with you to identify an appropriate alternative.
You do not need to provide unnecessary medical information when telling us about an access requirement. We may, however, need enough information to understand the barrier and what adjustment or alternative would be useful.
10. Reporting an accessibility problem
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this website, we would like to know about it.
When contacting us, it can be helpful to tell us:
the page or service you were trying to use;
the barrier you encountered;
the device, browser or assistive technology involved, where relevant; and
what you were trying to achieve.
You only need to provide information that you are comfortable sharing, and that is relevant to helping us investigate the problem.
