About Elaine Hughes
She / Her / Disabled. Black.
The founder who changed what luxury means.
Elaine Hughes is the Founder of The Inclusive Wedding Company™ and The Inclusive Hospitality Company — a Forbes-featured accessible luxury strategist, CAE-accredited consultant, ILM mentor, author of Access All Aisles, and the UK's leading authority on accessibility in premium weddings and hospitality.
She has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. She is a Black woman. And she built a business at the pinnacle of one of the most exclusive industries in the world — not despite those things, but because of them.
"I didn't enter this industry to fit in. I entered it to change it from the inside — with the authority of someone who has lived every barrier I'm asking others to dismantle."
The Story
Built from the inside out.
The wedding industry is one of the most emotionally charged, high-stakes environments a person can navigate. For disabled and neurodivergent couples, it is also — too often — one of the most exclusionary.
Elaine knows this not just as a consultant. She knows it as someone who has experienced it firsthand. As a Black disabled woman, she has sat with the exhaustion of having to explain your needs again and again to people who should already know. She has felt the quiet dismissal of venues that weren't built with her in mind. She has watched an industry that celebrates love fail, repeatedly, to love everyone equally.
That experience didn't discourage her. It clarified exactly what she needed to build.
The Inclusive Wedding Company™ was founded on the conviction that accessibility and luxury are not in tension. That an extraordinary guest experience and a fully accessible one are the same thing. That the industry doesn't need to lower its standards — it needs to raise them.

Who Elaine Is…
The intersection nobody else occupies.
There is no shortage of DEI consultants. There is no shortage of wedding industry professionals. There is no shortage of accessibility advisors.
There is, however, exactly one Black disabled woman operating at the intersection of all three — in the luxury market — with over 20 years of lived and professional expertise.
That is not a boast. It is a statement of fact about a gap that should not exist, that Elaine has chosen to fill.
"Nobody is doing this work from where I stand.
Black. Disabled. In luxury. Demanding better."
— Elaine Hughes
